Introduction: If while viewing the maps with the bird’s eye views, you click on a place for which the Virtual Earth cannot provide the views, then in such cases, it displays a red colored X. if this happens trying the views for a little higher altitude may help. Therefore, zoom out by one level.

Changing the area of the maps displayed on the screen

You have many options for this too. You can close or collapse the maps, or move the feature panels as the panel saying welcome, or the collections editor, or the view control etc. Doing this would provide more viewable area for the maps. These features are not always in use and therefore closing them will not create mush inconvenience. However if you wish you can at anytime restore them.

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
