i)You need to mark the starting point for your maps. You can do this by placing a place-mark for the starting point. Creating a place-mark is very easy. For this, take your cursor to the appropriate position and then click over there to place the place-mark at that point. If you are not satisfied with its position, you can press escape to cancel it.
j)After placing the place-mark at the desired place, you can add a suitable title and description for it. This is a very important part of creating a place-mark. You should give a good title and description to your place-mark so that the viewers will be able to understand it easily.

Aquatic Diversity of the Philippines
The academy Curators, Terry Gosliner and Garry Willaims are the people behind this KML. They have been diving in the Philippines coral Reefs since 1992. During all these years, they have surveyed and captured the images of the great diversity present over there.
Their research supports that the Verde Island passage, which is situated in the northern part of Philippines, has the corral reefs that have the greatest diversity in the world. The exact locations where they have dived and explored are shown as placemarks in Google Earth. You can click on these placemarks to know more about the species of aquatic animals and plants present over here.

If I want to use World Wind data in other mapping and modeling applications, is there any way to extract data from World Wind to do so?
Whatever data you view through World Wind is saved as a cache in the “Cache” directory. This directory is located in the installation folder itself and the cached data is organized by the dataset.
You can use this cached data for any other mapping and modeling applications you want.
Another way of doing this is through the WMS protocol. This protocol enables you to interface with the same servers that the WW connects.

What is the license under which NASA World Wind is available?
NASA World Wind is available as an open source program. It is an open source program in a true sense. Therefore, if you want, you can download it and alter the source code. However to be more precise, the license for NASA World Wind is LGPL type. Thus if you make some modifications to the source you may or may not be allowed to redistribute it.
You can see the NOSA page that has a good explanation of the things that you can do and the ones that you cannot.

We are not the company "Google" which is a registered trademark. We are a non affiliated 3rd party who is providing no cost tips, advice and troubleshooting for various software included in the "Google Software Pack".
I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
