I just found out something pretty cool today on Digg.com. Apparently there was a bit of a public hue and cry about Google's waste of energy from using a white background on their main search page. And by "a bit" I mean basically that ONE article was written on ONE environmentally conscious person on his website. He just worked out the math to determine approximately how much energy gets used on a high volume website such as Google simply by having a white background vs a black background. The results were quite interesting.
