3D ware house is feature used by the Google Sketch-Up to share and to place the 3D models on Google Earth. This is a kind of place rather a software using which one can put, share, upload, and download various 3D models to use in Google Earth and in other 3D models.
Q. How to download a 3D model to use in Google Sketch-Up or in Google Earth?
The 3D warehouse gives an opportunity to download other users 3d models directly into a Sketch-up. Once modify them or can use them in his/her own 3D model. If you want to download you favorite model then you have two options. Either you can save that model and can use it later or can load it directly in to Sketch-Up to modify. In a sketch-up through file menu select ‘Get Model’ Option and log in to 3D warehouse with your Google Account. Then describe the model thoroughly and search it, if you get that particular model then select an option saying edit with Sketch-Up. Here you will get two options either to save it on disk or modify directly.
Q. How to upload or to share a 3d model in a 3D warehouse using Google Sketch-up?
First create a model in Google Sketch-Up. Then in Sketch-Up file menu you will find an option ‘Share Model’ under 3D warehouse tab. You will redirect to 3D warehouse home page where you need to sing in with your Google Account. On the home page explain your models specialty and click on ’Upload’. You model will get displayed on 3D warehouse immediately.
Q. What are the ‘breadcrumbs’ and why to use them?
Breadcrumbs basically are the links used to display the path of a particular 3D model collection if it has. If you have uploaded many 3D model or you have created your won 3D collection then via one model you can give a link to your entire collection. So, anyone can view your 3D art collection if you have provided the ‘breadcrumbs’ for particular model. You can edit these breadcrumbs directly through your model by logging into 3D warehouse. If you want to remove the breadcrumbs then select the ‘no parent’ option and your breadcrumbs will get disable.
Q. How to find location of 3D models on the Google Earth?
To find such 3D models locations first you need to download the 3D warehouse network link. This link enables all the models placed on the Google earth when you click on it. After downloading this link, simply run the Google earth and you will see many bleu house marks on your Google Earth. These marks indicate where the models are located. If you click on a particular blue house then a popup balloon will give you the detailed information of that model with extra links.
Q. How to remove a model from a 3D warehouse?
To remove a model from 3D warehouse first you need to log in to 3D warehouse using your Google Account. After you logged in choose your model and right click on it. Choose delete option from the popup menu and click yes on the message window.
