A brief introduction on Google Layers
Google Earth has many exciting features in which Google Layers is the one that offers a selection of data points of geographic interest that you can choose to display over your viewing location. This feature contains points of interest along with map, terrain, building data and roads. You will get to view the complete list of layers that is obtainable in the layers panel. In the vision field, you are able to select all the layers that are available (All Layers), (Core) or can also choose, which are recently displayed. In this feature, there is also option of displaying or hiding of any country, state or region borders by unchecking or checking Borders in the layers.
Layers are formed by Google or its content associates which it publishes the content that you will view in the layers panel. If there is a business or point of interest of a selected category then in the viewing area that icon appears in the viewer. Specific selections like a geographical feature lake do not at all time provide an icon but instead of it displays a label beside the matching area.
There are also some tips for the users for saving POIs to My Places like if you have once locate a points of interest which you want to save for upcoming Google Earth sessions then you have to just right click i.e. CTRL click on the Mac and choose Save to My Places from the pop-up menu.
