Book Search – Google Earth’s newly added layer
Google Book Search is a new Google Earth layer that is launched by Google. This Google Earth layer, when turned on can show users little book icon placemarks when you zoom into numerous places across the globe. The best thing is that you do not need to type the name of the place; instead, you only need to browse and there appear placemarks. These placemarks are results from search of places that are found mentioned in books indexed by search engine of Google. For well-known places such as "Paris", people are able to see a huge array of icons in a series of concentric circles. Every icon displays the result of that city mentioned in a particular book. Many references are there that can be confusing at times however if the users click on the summary link, it directs the users straight to the Google Earth layer named book search.

It is a useful layer for students, teachers and even people, who are simply interested in knowing more about our beautiful planet earth that we live on. Since Google Earth v4.2 released a new feature known as flight simulator, which has been included as a hidden feature. Relying on the system, it cab be also accessed by pressing Control+Alt+A, Control+A as well as Command+Option+A. Google Earth’s this new feature, once activated will feature on the tool menu. Since version 4.3 of Google Earth came out the option is no longer hidden by default.
