Different ways to use Google Earth
Is there life on Mars? Well, to answer this question would be difficult but you can ponder on this question by viewing New Mars in Google Earth 5.0. Yes, it is possible as Google Earth 5.0 comes with new Mars mode. After you open Google Earth, just go to the planet icon that is located at the top. Just click on this icon and you will greet to see real 3D simulation of the planet Mars that is simply fantastic.
Type “Valles Marineris” in the “Fly to” box and then press the enter button. Zoom in for exploring the canyon. It is often referred as Grand Canyon of the planet Mars. Valles Marineris system stretches around 4000km. Located south of Martian Equator, this canyon is around 6 to 7 times deeper than Earth's Grand Canyon.
Once, you finish exploring Valles Marineris, just go to Layers section. Once you open this section, you will get to about lenders and rovers that were used for exploring Mars. You can also access the images taken by them. Isn't that amazing? For instance, a view from Phoenix Lander is nothing but a composite of over 400 images. The view also shows you 3D models of devices.
With Google Earth, you will easily be able to take a spectacular sightseeing tour. So where would you like to go, Imperial Palace located in the country of Japan, Las Vegas or Eifel Tower.
For that, you will have to open “Sightseeing” folder that is under places. Do not forget to click on box, if it has not been checked. Double click on play tour icon (Its looks like a folder, which is at bottom right of places action). You will be taken to places that have been clicked. This tour although goes quickly, you can always pause it to explore the different places that you want to explore.
Google NYC: Visit the Times Square:
You simply will not stop appreciating the street view provided by Google Earth. Select Times Square and find out street view visuals provided by Google Earth at their best. So if you want to go to “Times Square”, just enter it in the “Fly to” feature.
You have to zoom in to get the Street view. You will be able to view some globes all along the street. Just click on one of them to view a photo. Now select “Show full screen” 4] Now if you position the cursor on the top right, then a thumbnail of that image will appear next to zoom slider. Now select the small square that is inside it and then drag to the right or left in order to see 360 degree view of that spot.
Google View: The Fenway Park from Pitcher's Mound
During the baseball's off season, you will have to tour historic home of Red Sox for a mere $8. However if you have Google Earth, you can tour Fenway without paying a money. Just type “Fenway Park” in the “fly to” feature. Now, you have just zoom in to explore surrounding area.
