I can’t find my home in Google Earth?
The searches in the Google earth are words or pin-code specific. The right spellings or the correct pin-code in the “Fly to” or “Direction” text box gives you the refined search. If, one cannot locate the given place there’s another way to locate the address by searching it on Google search engine or at http://maps.google.com/ It gives you different kinds of suggestions if you have made any errors phrasing the address.
A .dll or a Dynamic Link Library file missing!
The original purpose for DLLs was saving both disk space and memory required for applications by storing it locally on the hard drive. If google earth gives .dll file missing error, it’s because the file is actually missing or is corrupted. To resolve this error you may follow these procedures:
1) Re-installing the Google Earth might help solve this problem.
2) If the problem persists: for Desktops: re-installing or upgrading the drivers for the graphics card would help. for Laptops : drivers can be downloaded from the company sites.
Note:
1. Google strongly does-not recommend upgrading or installing the Beta releases.
2. The recommended version would be DirectX 8.1 or higher, DirectX 9.0c being the latest(2006)]
I can see nothing but White Earth?
The Google earth shows White earth only if your graphics card(s) drivers are not upgraded or they are not installed properly. To get rid of this error, you may follow the following instructions:
1. For PC/Desktop users: re-installing the graphics driver or upgrading it to a newer version might help. You can find latest drivers on the manufacturers’ site(s).
2. For laptop users: The drivers can be downloaded from the manufacturers’ sites.
If the problem still persists, try changing the version of Google earth from “OpenGL” to “DirectX” and restart your Google Earth.
Can my files from older versions of Google Earth be opened in newer version?
Yes, the older versions of Google earth files are compatible with the newer versions of it. It can read the Keyhole but, can’t recognize it.
”Image not found” error in the display area?
If you can successfully view desired image, it shows a compass as well as the Google logo in the bottom corners. The “Image not found” error pops up if the Windows login name is not in the recognized English or ASCII-format(a-z,A-Z,0-9,_.,-) and is in some different versions i.e. in original Chinese, Japanese or Korean language, Google-earth shows the said error. To tackle this problem the most effective solution would be to create a different user account with an English name on the same PC with administrative rights. Try running Google earth from this account.
Trouble with importing of addresses in Google Earth?
The locations inputted to the Google Earth Plus and Pro are processed in a georeference(in terms of latitudes & longitudes) or non-georeference(phrases or names of places) manner. Search phrase for any name is available only in specific countries like United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Italy, Germany and Spain till date. Even searches for P.O. Box numbers are also not implemented yet, though it would be in future versions.
