General Use of Sketch Up pro Layout

I wanted to know if there are any materials or components in LayOut (beta)

There are no traditional SketchUp materials or components in Lay Out. But you can store the entities in Lay Out, which can be put to use in other LayOut documents by employing Scrapbooks dialog box. You will get many Scrapbooks by default with Lay Out. But you can also have one for your own. Follow these steps and visit the LayOut help menu so that you get to learn more about Scrap Books. First open Lay Out and click on its Help menu. Choose Lay Out help and look for Scrapbooks. You need to have a Internet connection for this.

What is the function of Lay Out beta?

Basically LayOut (beta) is one of the features of feature of Google SketchUp Pro 6. It is asset of tools that you can use make design presentations using SketchUp models. Designers can now prepare document sets using Lay out. It helps designers to arrange tilt, place, and add annotations photos, sketches Sketch up models etc to make the presentation and documentation graphics. It is also possible for designers to create format booklets, slide shows and presentations. However you should make a note that Lay Out is not a 2D CAD application or a photo realistic rendering application.

I want to get Lay Out. Is it mandatory to get or install a special license?

Lay Out is one of Google Sketch Up features. Therefore the license is automatically covered up by SketchUp Pro. When you start using SketchUp Pro along with its license LayOut is automatically authorized.

Where do I get tips of making the best use of Lay Out Beta?

There are a number of ways on how to learn using Google Beta. First is Videos where you can view video tutorials. It can be found in the Help menu. Second option is the instructor. You can click on each tool button to see the function of each tool. Go to the windows menu and say Instructor.

You can also read the user guide LayOut Professional (Beta) Online Help. It will tell you how to use Lay out, what are the functions of its tools etc. it is located in the Help menu in Lay Out help. Many of your queries will be answered on Google SketchUp Help Center. You can just type a question or look in the Lay Out categories.

SketchUp Pro Forum is specially meant for users to ask the questions related to Lay out or share their stories. And last but not the least you can experiment with Lay Out and play with it. You can try suing the different tools.

I do not want Sketch up pro but I want to download Lay Out separately. Is it possible?

Since Lay out is Sketch Ups feature, you cannot download it separately. So you cannot download and install Lay Out separately.

Is it possible to run both SketchUp and LayOut (beta) at the same time?

Yes it is possible. Infact at time you will have to open Sketch Up when you are working with Lay Out.
