Get linked with Google Maps from your website
Whenever you are looking for directions, you will be shown only the A-Z maps or else you will have to go for a route finder website. But now, forget all these complicated issues in finding a map of a particular location. Google have created an immensive mapping system for you that is very easy and quick to use. Potential customers can use Google Maps to look for a business in a particular geographical location. You are also allowed to add your own business to the list to make it appear in the search results.
According to Google, it says that the following regions are covered under the Google Map. These regions are Canada, China, New Zealand, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Ireland, etc and many more. Once you enter in the Google Maps, you can follow the given guidelines to get connected to a location map from your website:
First you need to enter your postal or ZIP code into the search box, then click on Search and wait for sometime for your map to be displayed on the screen. At the top of the page, on the right hand, you will find “Link to this page” icon. Right click on it and then select “Copy Shortcut” from there or you can just copy the URL from the browser. For adding this link to your website give a suitable heading such as “Visit our Place” or something like that. Insert a hyperlink and then paste the URL. You can also add hyperlinks to the pictures, if you have images of the premises on your website.
You can also add business listings to Google Maps with the help of Google Earth to find yourself in the Google Maps search results. This is a very simple task. At the bottom of the Google Maps page, click on “business owners”. You will be taken to the Local Business Center and then asked to get log in the Google account. Once you are logged in, click on “Add new business” on the “Locations” tab. Then enter your name and complete postal address. An activation PIN will be sent by Google on the address entered by you. You can, if you wish make different listings for each business locations. And then click “Continue”.
Now you have to add your phone number, website as well as email address and a short description of your business. This description should be at least of 200 hundred words that should include relevant keywords regarding your business. You can also mention the mode of payment that will be accepted y your company like credit cards, debit cards, DD’s or checks. Click on “Continue” and select appropriate class for your listings. You can select five different classes. Then a preview will appear on the screen of your listings. You can edit it if you want. Once you are satisfied with it, click on “Continue”.
Wait for 2 weeks and then Google will send you the activation PIN. Follow the directions in the letter validate to authorize your listings before they appear in the Google Maps search results.
