Google Earth and British Airways Together
Visitors to the BA website will now be able to use Google Earth technology to “not only book their flights, but find nearby hotels and car rentals on a 3D map. Once users have zoomed in on their chosen locale, the Google service provides a link through which they can make a booking back on the British Airways site.”
As a huge fan of traveling to England, I have been on the British Airways site dozens and dozens of times, and I think this is certainly a move in the right direction for them. I would imagine that BA may need Google more than Google needs them, but it certainly wont hurt either one of them financially for having taken this step. I look forward to getting to play with Google Earth when I book my next trip to London!
