Google Earth - Explore, Search, and discover the world around you
Internet has become very first choice amongst people. Many people use internet to search and explore the facts of worlds and to collect imagery of earth. Now there is no need to sit for hours to find a beautiful picture of the earth. Just install Google Earth, which is a 3D satellite imagery software, and take snap of world’s great wonders from every angle.
Some KML’s provides information about different events around the world. Some of the events are the Chernobyl Radiation Visualization, and Darfur crisis. Aerial influenza spread. Geologic atlas for United States, Ontario Underwater Council, data about voyages during the 16th and 17th century, and extreme places around the world are some more other KMLs provided by Google Earth.
Chernobyl Radiation visualization
This is an animated presentation showing the radiation levels in a reactor at the Chernobyl nuclear facility. This site is where the worlds worst nuclear accidents have occurred.
The animation is created by Valery Hronusov, one of the members of Google Earth community.
Geologic Atlas for the United States
This atlas consists of mapping overlays for produced by US Geological Survey. It was produced between the years 1894 to 1945. This atlas covers almost all parts of United States. Moreover, each location is covered in detail. They provide several kinds of overlays of a number of types of maps. These maps range from topographical maps to economic maps. Note that some maps overlays may take some time to load.
Ontario Underwater Council
diving is a hobby, which any person around the world would like to enjoy. The Underwater Council is a KML, which provides you information about different diving sites around the Great Lakes. In this KML you will find textual as well as photographic information. This information is described in the placemark description balloons. You can also get information about cubs which you can join.
Encompassing the Globe
During the 16th and 17th centauries, the world came together due to Portugals initiative to explore and discover new regions around the world. This had made it a global economic power. The KML “Encompassing the Globe” you can view photographs, paths, and information about such voyages.
Crisis in Darfur
Recently the genocide in Darfur has caused one of the worlds worst Humanitarian crises. This KML consists of the layer United States Holocaust Memorial Museums, “Crisis in Darfur”. You can get information about moving testimonies and also view the photographic documentation from those who are directly related to it.
Extreme Series
in this KML, Satishgsk, who is a member of the Google Earth community, has created a series of images of locations of the extreme places. With this KML you can view the diversity and variety that our planet has. Right from the Angel Falls in Venezuela which is the tallest waterfall in the world, to the Karl-Marx-Hof in Vienna, which is the longest residential building in the world.
Darfur Destruction in which 100 villages were destroyed
when Brad Taylor was exploring the high-resolution images of satellite imagery, he identified images, which show the destruction of around 1000 villages in Darfur. Darfur is a region in Sudan.
