Google Earth Flight Tracker

Google provided the internet users with a free program which is the Google Earth. Google Earth then evolved as an efficient product of the giant company for providing a huge traffic of internet users. Google Earth can not only be used by the geeks and archaeologists to discover ancient ruins but it can also be used by people to track the flights.

Google Earth though does not have any direct feature to provide the flight tracking facilities to the users, Google has managed to integrate with Flightwise.com, a flight tracking website. Flight wise uses the flight tracking data of Google Earth to show on their 3D Earth Browser. Now you can view flights which are going through a particular location in real time. With the help of Google Earth, you have got a chance to view the flights on the best flight tracking site available on the internet media. Rotate them around, view them from all different angles, and moreover 3D view is also an option you can look for; just browse through any flight tracking feature and then click on the Google Earth button present there.

How flight-tracking works

If you are on the webpage of Flight wise, first think, you’d love to do is to search for a flight to track. Generally you have to subscribe there. But still if you don’t, you can use the service too by going through the Quick Track option.

Display of the Flight

In the page which is directed by the Google Earth, you’ll be viewing the main flight path in the yellow and to display its height from a point to the ground, extruded patch is used. Moreover, the tracking surroundings are also displayed when you are tracking only individual flights and the surroundings are displayed till the 30 nautical miles radius.

In the Flight wise, almost all parts like Area Track, Quick Track and Fleet watch have been integrated with the Google. You may have the view of the path of any flight and its surroundings since November 2001 as the database of the flights has also been integrated. Even 3D display is also made available for the users where any one may have a look at any flight track from different angles at any point on the way of the track. In addition to that, including overlays in Google Earth is also made possible where you can make the best of the opportunity by improving the flight tracking experience. Like the feature of sectional maps can also be included where anyone has the freedom of adding the US aviation sectional maps.

Flight Tracking In Netherlands

Flight tracking facility is not only provided for the US residents but other countries too. When you are tracking the flights around the Netherlands, Geluidsnet.com is preferred for tracking flights in the Netherlands. Go to the Schipol area and click on it, there you will be allowed to track the flights arriving or departing within a difference of 30 minutes. For users ease, the arriving aircrafts are made as orange fences while departing are painted green. This facility is provided in association with Google Earth.

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
