Google Earth KML for Sky

Where is Hubble This is the KML with which, you can know where exactly the Hubble Space Telescope lies. It is interesting to see the location of this telescope in Google Earth. We all know that this telescope exists, however; we do not know where it is situated. It can be right over your head or it may be somewhere else.

When you see this telescope in the Google Sky, you can know where it is projecting at that moment. Its projection keeps on changing and so with the help of this KML you can keep a track of Hubble Space Telescope.

You just need to turn on the Sky in Google Earth 4.2 to use this KML.

Solar system in Motion

This is the KML, which provides you view of, in all 95 different objects from our solar system. These objects include the planets and their satellites, small planets and several asteroids. Along with this, orbital data for 2 years has also been included. If you want to know about the orbital path of each object, you can turn on the orbital path object in the file. This will show the curls and loops along which these bodies travel. You can also zoom-in on some of these bodies to know more about them.

Exploding star animation

An exploding star is a great site to watch. This KML provides you images of exploding stars and thus you can know more about this phenomenon also called light echo. Currently, can see one star in action, called V838 Mon explodes. The images that this KML provides you are actually Hubble Space Telescope images. In these images, you can see the light from stars, which is reflected from the material present nearby. Different stages can be seen as different patterns of reflected light. You can view this in the form of an animation as well.

For using this KML in Google Earth 4.2, you need to switch on to the Sky view.

Transit of Venus The transit of Venus is going to take place in the year 2012. The transit of Venus is a phenomenon in which Venus crosses between the Sun and Earth. With this KML, you can also explore the previous observations recorded during the previous Venus transits. This KML also provides you some additional useful information like the best place to view the next transit, its time, etc.

Chandra X-ray Observatory Image Tour Earlier you may have noticed a KML, in the Google Earth KML gallery, which enabled you to view the development going on at the Chandra X-ray Observatory from the time it started. However, now the Chandra X-ray Observatory has provided Google Earth all the images and data about its work. You can view these images and data in Google Earth through this KML.

XMM-Newton Gallery The XMM-Newton observatory is orbiting around the earth. You can view the data and imagery from this observatory using this KML This KML is developed by European Space Agency. It provides photos, links and description and using it, you get an experience of a fascinating tour of space.
