Google Maps, uncomplicated with a simple interface
Google maps can show you where you would prefer to go either on your computer or even on your mobile phone. It will also tell you what you can find once you have reached your destination. It is comparatively uncomplicated software and has a very simple interface. This software allows one to use the directions keys or even a mouse to navigate through the map. The + and – signs are used to zoom in and out.
Search Results, My Maps and additional information about items on the map are shown on the left panel. One should click on the border of this panel to hide it. To display a hidden left panel, click markers option to signify an important location. For example, when you search for an address, Google Maps shows you the address location with a marker.
Depending on the user’s location one can use Google to find a business in any given locality or neighborhood. For example if you are in demand for a supermarket, map read toward your location and type ‘supermarket’. A range of supermarkets will be displayed on the map. An uncomplicated way to locate your position is to enter your pin code and then enter supermarket. Different locations and options will be displayed for different supermarkets. When you click on any one of the different options, you will receive the phone number and exact address of the supermarket.
Google can be used to view satellite images, which allows one to observe the earth through an aerial viewpoint. One can use this feature by clicking on the top right of the screen. There is also an selection called hybrid view through which you can display information on landmarks, the names of each street, the streets and a lot more similar information.
Just like Google Earth, one can navigate and observe a location at the street-level. You can use the zoom features, observe the adjoining location, and explore it practically. To use this feature one must click on the street view button on the top left of the screen. Unfortunately, most roads cannot be observed at the street level. The roads, which can be viewed at street level, are marked with blue borders on the map.
You can also create your own maps and upload them through own personalized information and use different tools to customize it with different photos, videos and placemarks and hence be used for Google Earth. Google maps for Java based cell phones have been available since 2006. Google also offers an application-programming interface to use Google maps on any site by using a Java script, which also helps in accumulating overlays to the map.
Maps, local business search, street-level search, and driving directions are fully functional for countries like Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom (local search only), United States.
