How to draw polygons in Google Earth

If you think that it is impossible to draw polygons in the program Google Earth then you are wrong. You can not only draw polygons but also draw free form paths in 3-Dimensional viewer and then save them in 'My places' folder just as you save a placemark. Polygons and paths share all the features of placemark data such as description, name, and style view. If you want to play a tour, the first thing that you do is to create a path. Once you have created a path then you can choose and play a tour. You have to execute the steps that are discussed here to draw a path or polygon in 3-Dimensional viewer. You should position 3-D viewer to have the region that you wish to mark. If your view is in more detailed then your drawing can follow land feature more closely. From add menu, you should select polygon or path option. The new polygon or new path dialog box will appear and the cursor will change to square drawing tool. You also need to enter properties for your drawing as you would enter for any other kind of places data.

Switching from one mode to another is very easy. For instance, suppose you are making the free form mode and you have decided that you will switch to regular mode. To transfer from free form mode to regular mode, you need to release mouse button, position pointer to new place and then click. Straight edge will be drawn between last point and most recent one. Now overturn the process, if you want to switch over free form mode. You can use combination of drawing modes to make curved edges along with straight edges. To navigate in 3-Dimensional viewer while creating new polygon or path, you need to make use of navigation panel or keyboard controls. In order to create a polygon, you can generate the shape of a 3-D object. For doing this you first need to click, 'Altitude' tab. To elevate the polygon, you also need to slide the slider from the Ground toward the Space. Elevate the shape to appropriate height. Check the extends side to the ground. The polygon now is a 3-D object. Click on OK button that will save your new polygon or path.

Change style color for the polygon or line from default white so that you are able to visualize the shape better. Click in viewer option to begin your drawing and then make use of the following methods to obtain the desired shape. Regular shape: You have to click and then release. You have move the mouse cursor to new point and then click to insert additional points. Now in this mode, the mouse cursor will remain a square drawing tool and polygon or path that you draw is same as polygon and path. Free form shape: You have to click once, hold, and then drag. Mouse cursor changes to up-arrow that indicates you are making use of the free form mode. When you drag the mouse cursor around 3-Dimensional viewer, outline of shape will follow path of cursor. When drawing a path a line will appear and when drawing a polygon, shape will evolve from the path of cursor that connects the starting as well as ending points.
