How to Import GPS Data in Google Earth

Most of the users are using paid versions of the Google Earth and they are comfortable about that. There are many software and tools, they are on subscription basis. Comparatively the Google Earth software are cheaper. These paid software help you to earn money rather than entertainments. Paid versions are highly useful. This feature is highly useful for all users. It helps a user to combine GPS data with Google earth and can get great benefit for his or her business. Importing the GPS information in Google Earth is free from any technical hassles, all you need to know is the right connecters and the easy to follow instructions for importing the GPS data in Google Earth software

When you get connected your GPS to your computer that has Google Earth running you should follow these steps. Select compatible GPS manufacturer and choose the kind of import data that you want to import to Google earth. You can select your own drawing preferences in the data import. To adjust your altitude preferences select the Adjust altitude to ground height. This enables you to manage the GPS recorded points at the ground level. This altitude adjustment helps to manage the track points that have been recorded on foot or in a car. However, if your GPS has recorded the track while flying you should not choose this option because it will show your track points on the ground. When all the GPS data is imported in Google earth a confirmation dialog box appears, click the OK option. That’s enough

The data that you transfer in Google earth displayed in the Places option with the relevant GPS, that is if it is a Garmin or Magellan GPS device. This transferring data is classified according to the type of data, like waypoints, routes and tracks etc. The data that is stored in the folders can be edited, saved and organized. One common problem you may encounter while transferring data is that, sometimes a connection error to troubleshoot. To get rid of this problem you need to switch off your GPS device and turn it on again. If your GPS data has time information like GPS tracks this data can be displayed in a sequence in Google earth. The GPS tracks can be seen and tracked visually. There are some steps to view a timeline; it includes Transferring the GPS information that is time related. Selecting data in the places option, when the data is selected there is displayed in the three dimensional viewer. The time slider has same time range with your data. If you want to adjust time range of the data you can adjust it by dragging the range marker to right or left. Thus there are more ways to import GPS data in Google earth and use it for your maximum benefit. The flexibility with Google earth is really amazing!
