How to record movies in Google Earth

There are a number of tips recommended to help you to create quality movies. Before you begin, your recording to generate the best possible movies you should know these tips:

Update the movie player: It is absolutely essential to have the recent version of Apple Quick Time or windows media player installed to make good quality movies, especially if you want high quality graphics for your movie. It is recommended that Windows media player 9 should be downloaded.

Update Graphics card driver: Even though the graphics card driver has no impact on actual recording, however if your graphics card driver is faulty, it can generate anomalies in 3D viewer that are also seen in your movie. Therefore, you should always see to it that your driver is updated to avoid possible rendering issues. It is recommended that a graphics card that has at least of 64 megabytes of video RAM.

Increase the memory cache: By increasing the memory cache size, you can definitely decrease your movie recording time (although it has no impact on the movie).

Increase Detail area of 3D Viewer: By increasing the detail area of 3D viewer, it can capture all pixels in detail. Because of this, there is lot of improvement in the resolution of the movie. Set detail area as large in case you have 64 megabytes of graphics card memory. Set detail area as medium in case the graphics card memory is less than 64 megabytes.

Adjusting the touring speed: When you are recording a movie it is best that you use a tour speed that is relatively slow. However, do not hesitate to experiment with variable speeds. You can then play back the movie to find out whether the speed was appropriate.

Adjusting elevation exaggeration: In order to enhance appearance of terrain in the movie, you need to adjust elevation exaggeration.

Hiding or showing items in 3D Viewer: To show or hide the status bar, compass, grid or scale legend, simply check or uncheck these items in view menu. Similarly, in the same menu, you have to uncheck or check atmosphere to hide atmosphere around the earth when viewed from space or at full horizon.

Before recording preview tour set up: It is a nice practice to set up and then review tour points that you wish to visit in the movie. This mainly involves 2 simple actions:

1] In places panel, you can select the entire folder in order to view all placemarks that are within it or else you can select individual items from the folder to view the selected ones. Click on the play button that will appear below places panel. After previewing the movie, do not forget to make adjustments if any that are essential before recording.

Set up your machine for maximum efficiency: To make movies is a graphics intensive and graphics intensive process. It is best not to run multiple large applications on your machine during recording. You should disable both pop up blockers and screen savers.
