There are many features of Google Earth which are as follows:
Wikipedia-Panoramio integration
This is the first and the foremost feature Of Google Earth. Panoramio is website which is related to the images related to geographical entities. The important point in Panoramio is the images are available in layers which must be updated as needed. All these layers are available in the thirty seven languages which are mentioned in the Google Earth. After the integration of Google and Panoramio Google detached layer known as the “Geographic Web” layer. The Panoramio layer became the most important layer of Google Earth.
Flight Stimulator:
Flight stimulator is a program that allows experiencing the effects of flight without having to board the plane. Google Earth also has a similar feature. Due to this feature the users can feel as if they are in a plane and looking down towards a city. For example Google Earth has an option where the viewers can experience bird eye view of Downtown Toronto as seen from the F16 fighting falcon fighter aircraft. The models of the planes which are available they are F-16 fighting falcons and Cirrus SR-22. This feature is not a salient feature of Google Earth but a hidden feature. It can be only accessed by using the keys Control+Alt+A, Control+A or Command+Option+A. These commands depend upon the systems which you have. Once you follow these commands a wonderful feature gets activated. Keyboard, mouse and joystick can be used in this feature. Using a broadband connection and high speed computer provides close to real experience.
Google Sky:
Sky is related to stars and planets and other celestial bodies. So the name Google Sky Google created this software with the help of rather partnership of Space TelescopeScienceInstitute. This institute is situated in Baltimore. The pictures taken by the Hubble telescope are being added to Google Sky due to this partnership. Google Earth maps are always updated at an interval of five minutes. Google Sky even features the latest astronomical transits like the movement of planets.
Street View:
When searching and browsing for cities users also wanted to observe the view of the streets helping them to find the addresses of a particular place very easily. So Google in the year 2008 included the version of Google 4.3 in the month of April. This feature of Google has views of street which are 360 degree view. Also the streets and their surroundings can be observed at the ground level itself. Only selected cities can be observed. This feature of the Google displays the images which are already taken by somebody on camera.
Oceans:
In the year 2009 Google introduced a new feature in which Viewers can see beneath the waves. All this is in three dimensional. This feature not only contains pictures but also articles by prominent scientists, oceanographers. This feature now also has terrain of great lakes too.Historical Imagery:
