Live Search Maps is free global web mapping search service. This is blend of Windows Live Maps and Windows Live Local services. Live Search Maps is powered by Microsoft’s “Virtual Earth”.
Live Search Maps features Street Maps, Satellite Images, 3D maps and Bird Eye View, it also has other features like Terrain details in 3D mode, Finding and viewing, driving directions, Traffic viewing in several major cities and many more.
Street Maps of almost all cities in the world in full details like railway stations, hospitals and other details is available on viewer. Even directions are available just you have to search by location or street name.
Satellite Images of countries like United States, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and India are there on its viewer. Some images are high quality depending upon cities. If you want to see satellite images and map detail to gather there is “Hybrid” option.
You can see aerial photos from four points of view with Bird’s eye view. This is feature is available for 100 cities in USA and 80 European locations. You can clearly see signs on top of buildings, advertisements, pedestrian and many other objects.
3D maps are interesting way to explore any place than normal flat images. You just have to enable 3D option on “Virtual Earth” also you can rotate and tilt the in 3D maps.
Along with these features there are some new features like; Firefox supports, with this viewer who use Firefox as web browser they can experience 3D mapping with Live Search maps. Updated 3D cities in this feature there are 16 additional cities like San Diego, Portland, Cardiff, and Bristol that will be available with 3D buildings. You can view third party ratings and reviews of thousand of businesses in US Ratings and Reviews. RSS reader will automatically receive update made in collection by RSS collection feeds. Even live Traffic conditions are automatically presented.
Area Calculations and Drawing Enhancements with this you can add bunch of lines and shapes to a collection and this collection can be shared by other users and they can see area and distance measurement in collection viewer.
You can Add-In Live Search Maps to Microsoft Office Outlook. With this add in you can send meeting request with maps showing roads, 3D views. Traffic Update will help you to find best routes without rush. You can even print driving directions “to go”. You can give names to frequently used locations and one can quickly locate nearby places.
Now if you want to find some landmark or city or a map then type full address or partial address or place name and click search button. To find map of city or area click Maps under search option. In search box type name of place or city you want and click Search button.
To get Driving directions; find location on the map and just right click on starting point and click Drive from or pause on any Pushpin ,or search result and then click drive from.
