Managing Search Results in Google Earth
Welcome to this amazing software (Google Earth)! After downloading and installing this software, your machine appears a window from where you can view the entire world. With the help of Google Earth, you can view high-resolution satellite and aerial imagery, elevation terrain, photos, business listings, street and road labels and much before. There are various features available in Google Earth that you can effectively use to find particular location. Features such as search panel are commonly used to locate places and directions. Using the placemark and path feature, you can add a placemark and a path for that location.
Once you know how to search for places, you should know search result basics: In 3D viewer, you will find matching search results with an icon for marking the search. Alphabetical icons that are shown next to every result correspond to the matching item that are in search list view for cross reference. Only most recent research is automatically turned on by default. The icon can also be turned on for a search result by simply selecting the corresponding checkbox that is in search list view.
The contents of search result can also be deleted. All you have to do is right click on that folder and then select 'delete contents' from pop up menu.
You can perform same operations such as deleting, touring, editing on search results that you normally do on any item in 'places panel'.
You can also search for content that is generated by Google Earth users. This KML based content provides some exciting material that you can actually view in Google Earth. For searching user content, you will have to navigate to a suitable location and then search. User content will be visible at the bottom of the search results in Web results folder and as blue marks in 3D viewer.
Clearing Search Results: To clear the search results, you will have to click on Clear button that is at the bottom of search result listings. This clears all search results from both listing and 3D view. However, search results that are saved to 'My places' folder do not get deleted.
Printing Search results: You can also print all your search results by clicking on Printable view link in search results window. When you click on the link, Google Maps web window becomes visible at the bottom of screen. You can also click on print button that is on the web page for printing your search results.
Viewing Many Results: Sometimes a search over a specified category in metropolitan area returns lot of results that are all overcrowded in small region. Sometimes a group of icons may have no label or one icon may overlap another one. You should follow the guidelines to tune the display on POIs for resolving issues with search results.
