I am trying to load an image in Google earth. But I see a ‘Could not load’ message. What do I do?

If the image file format is not supported by Google earth, it won’t be loaded. Hence you receive the ‘Could not load’ message. Just try unchecking the listing of your image in the Places pane in the panel on the left hand. This may get rid of the error.

I can see a "Render Target Not Set" type of error message. What does this mean?

In case you see the "Render Target Not Set" type of error message it is recommended that you install DirectX on your machine.

When I exit Google earth I experience trouble in saving information. What may be the problem?

You must be facing problems during exiting when you try to save information to ‘My Places.kml files. The culprit may be the characters in the Microsoft Windows accounts username. This problem is mainly faced by closing Google earth on a Japanese, Korean or Chinese version.

What is the parse error?

You will get a parse error whenever you try to load a placemark or a file that is created by Google earth. This happens when the loading takes place on an early beta version of Google Earth or older version of Keyhole. The reason is that Placemarks are only forward compatible. Please download the latest Google earth version.

My Google earth for Mac does not function properly. What can be the problem?

The problem may be your graphic cards, which you need to update. If your Mac version is OS X 10.4.0 and later, then it can be updated to Mac OS X 10.4.6. In the Apple menu select Software update. You will know your system is up to date if "Mac OS X Update" is not seen on the list. But if it is displayed just check the box next to it. Then say ‘Install item’.

I want to set my Google earth for Mac such that it should work for a proxy server. How do I do it?

You need to configure your HTTP Proxy settings for Google Earth. Follow these steps. In the Apple menu select "System Preferences" and then "Network." Next go to the Proxy tab. Select the "Web Proxy (HTTP)". In the Web Proxy Server field you need to type in HTTP proxy information for your network. Internet Service Provider or system administrator will provide you this info.

In my Mac version the screen is all black and green. Why is it so?

Your Mac web browser must be blocking cookies you screen must be looking black and green. When your Mac web browser starts accepting these cookies this problem will be rectified. If you are using Mozilla firefox 1.0.7 and later, just click on the firefox menu in the firefox. In the menu you need to click on the "Preferences..." . This opens a new window. On the left part of this window there is Privacy section. Then expand the cookies section and check box next to "Allow sites to set cookies." To save changes click Ok.
