Searching business listing with Google Earth

By using Google Earth, users can search for business address listings with the help of “Find Businesses” tab in the program Google Earth. To search business listing, you must enter your search item in the input box of “What”. When you enter your search item, Google Earth quickly displays top 10 similar results in the recent view. If you want to target your search on a specific city, then you have to enter its name as well as state of that city in the input box “Where”.

The program Google Earth aids the users to search for the community maps that are created by other Google Earth users. Now it is possible for you to have a look on the user-created content. To view it, you have to scroll to the bottom of the search results in a search panel. The, go to the “community maps” folder. There appears user-created content in a 3-Dimensional viewer along with blue markers. Finally you need to click on blue marker to view more data.

In order to search for business listings and addresses, you can use several search methods. Using “exact names” search method; you can get accurate search results immediately. If you know the correct name of the listing that you want to search, try entering that name in quotation marks to restrict the number of results to those, which match with the entire string. It is a precise kind of entry; therefore, if you get unpredicted results, you may be toning an entry for that correct term.

Another search method is by using keywords. A method called “keyword search” provides you industry listings whose category matches with that keyword search, though the keyword is not there in the title of that business address. For instance, the keyword ‘salon’ gives you search results for “Supercuts” and other businesses, which are classified as a salon. By using Google Earth’s “Find Businesses” function, Google maps searches a combination of yellow pages listing with web page data for that particular region. For instance, when you search for “Shell Oil”, you get results for Investment Company, as well.

When you log out of the program Google Earth, last ten search entries are automatically saved for the next session. Find businesses search begins in a radius from the center of recent view that is indicated in input box of “Where”. Therefore, if you want to search for a movie theatre that near to restaurant where you are taking dinner, then try entering the address of that restaurant in the input box of “Where” when you are searching “Movie Theater” term.

Matching search results are displayed in a 3-Dimensional viewer with an icon for marking your search. The alphabetical icons correspond to its matching result in the search listing for easy cross reference. Only the latest search is turned into the 3-Diemsnional viewer by default. But you are able to turn on its display for the whole search results just by choosing a check box in a search list view. Deleting entire content is also possible by right clicking on a folder and selecting delete contents option.
