Emailing an Image: Presently, Google Earth image is available on Mac only through Eudora, entourage and mail applications. To email current view of planet Earth displayed in 3D viewer of Google Earth, you can either send it as an image file for those who do not use Google Earth or a KMZ file for Google Earth users.

When an image is mailed, a JPEG file is attached automatically to the outbound email message. When you mail the image as a KMZ, KMZ file is attached automatically to the outbound email message. For emailing an image do any one of the following:

a] Click file and select the email option and then click on Email image

b] Type the combination Ctrl + Alt + E (For Linux and Windows only)

c] Click on email icon that is located on toolbar and then select email image.

2] In the email service window, you have to choose your default Gmail account or email program. In case you are using your Gmail account, you may be asked to sign in.

Before choosing your email service, you have to select 'Remember this setting' checkbox, in case you have decided to use same email service whenever you want to email the view. It is possible to change email preferences by choosing tools>options>general (Linux/windows). For Mac operating system select Google Earth>preferences and then click on general tab.

3] Wait for some time while Google Earth sends data to your mail application. An email window will appear with image file. The image will be a JPG file of current view in 3D viewer.

4] Fill in recipient’s email address and other information if required and then send the email.

The quality of the image that you email is same to the quality that is available for save image feature in Google Earth.

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
