Google Earth is already widely popular among earthlings. Being the market leader in satellite imagery Google Earth covers the entire earth except a few islands. Moreover Google Earth also covers data within the sea, much to the benefit of marine scientists and anyone interested in underwater life and resources. Google Earth is high- tech satellite based imagery software. Developed by Keyhole Inc. it was sold to Google in 2004. In 2005, Google christened it as ‘Google Earth’ from ‘Earth Viewer’ that it was previously called.

Google Earth I widely popular all over the world. It covers most of the earth’s geographical mass and much of its water area. A wide range of people from students to teachers and from geographers to marine scientists uses Google Earth. Moreover Google Earth’s commercial version Google Earth pro (Google Earth plus is no longer available) is a huge success with companies. Real Estate Companies along with tourism companies and hospitality companies also use the geo spatial technology available through Google Earth successful into their business. Moreover city planners use Google Earth’s technology to plan their respective cities.

Google Earth is not only the king of geo spatial technology but also is a king of a completely different sector, which would surely make the adolescents happy. Google Earth has invented a number of games using their high tech features and 3D imagery.

A few more hot games by or playable on Google Earth

Flight simulator- one of the best games ever. The Google Team liked the game so much that they even added a ‘flight simulator’ feature on Google Earth. Once you have started the Flight stimulator you will permanently have the ‘menu option’ in the tools menu that is titled as ‘Enter Flight Simulator’. To leave the stimulator mode, all you have to do is to hit the ‘Exit flight simulator’ or simply press ‘Esc’.

The game offers the gamer the flexibility of choosing own ‘aircraft’ either the F16 sometimes known as the ‘Viper’. With the engines huge thrust, this aircraft is a speed beauty. Or you have the choice of choosing the ‘SR22’ a high performance four-seat propeller plane that has an engine of 310 horsepower and is capable of carrying a load of 930 pounds. This plane is slower than the F16. The game also offers you to fly all over the world and to choose your starting airport. You can choose any airport the world ranging from John F Kennedy Airport, New York or Katmandu Airport, Nepal. Moreover the game is joystick enabled. You can play the game using a joystick.

There are cool video clips for you to watch, which shows both the planes in action. The video is rather interesting and ‘must see’ for beginners. The game equipped with Google Earth’s technology is literally a technological game marvel. One can easily have a ‘free’ trip round the world using the feature or flying in the game. The Pyramids of Egypt, The Andes Of South America and the Swiss Alps are surely the places you would like to fly to using the game.

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
