Google maps give you a chance to fly to any location of your choice in minutes. You can now locate a place, find new business, look for a hotel or restaurant all in one click. Let us see why the Google map is becoming popular day by day.
You can access the Google map either from your PC or from a mobile phone. If you are traveling to a new destination and need traveling directions, you can get it from Google map. It also tells you what you can see once you reach there. You can now drag the Google map to have a clearer picture. It is made from dynamic interactive pages. Now you do not have to wait for the graphics to load whenever you zoom in on an image. These pages open within seconds. Just enter the name of the city and the region you want to see and get the map of the place. To drag these maps you can sue your mouse or the directional arrows. You can also go to any direction with the help of these arrows. Areas that are hidden off screen can also be viewed. To zoom in and zoom out, use the slider. The entire world map is there in front of you. You can scroll it the way you like.
And yes, once you locate a particular area you can also go in its details. This will help you to find famous places, monuments, transport options etc in that area. You can also look for local business with the help of Google map. Lets say you are looking for restaurants. Just type “restaurants” and then the zip code. You will get all the restaurants in that area. The phone numbers of each restaurant is displayed on the left hand side of the page. On clicking on the location link, you get to know details like the name of the restaurant, its local address and its contact number. Once you are viewing a particular place you can directly look for business without typing the location in the search box.
You might be curious about how your home looks from the sky. Google map gives you an opportunity to look at any area from the bird’s view. You can actually view aerial and satellite images of a place. These images can be panned, zoomed in and zoomed out as per your wish. You will see a “satellite” option on the top of the right hand corner of the Google map page. Another option is the Hybrid view. In the hybrid view you can see the pages as well as the street names and landmarks superimposed.
If you want to get directions to any place just type the name of the place and get step by step directions to the place. To navigate in Google earth, you can use these short cuts. For panning use the up and down arrows. You can also use the home keys, the end keys, page up and page down keys for a wider pan out.
