Why is there a problem with the opening of GIS files in Google Earth?
There are GIS images that have a large size of texture dimensions. It is because of this large size that the GIS images are not opened in the Google Earth. In order to view these images the user has to either crop or scale the dimensions of GIS images.
The question here arises of knowing the maximum allowable texture dimensions. To know this the user has to go to the help menu below the about Google Earth option. The texture size of the computer will be listed below. For the high end graphic cards supports the 2048X2048 pixel dimension. For the laptop users the maximum dimension is 1024X1024 pixel or even less than that.
In case when the image size is more than the textured dimension then there will be a dialog prompt open that will tell the user to crop or scale the image as per the requirement. There is a option called as scale that will help the user to re project or re scale the textured dimensions so that they can be viewed by the user in Google Earth. The same can be done by using the crop option.
