Google Earth’s 3D world
Google Earth allows its users to fly anywhere on Earth for viewing satellite imagery, 3D buildings, terrain and even explore the galaxies. You can also explore rich geographical content and save toured places and can also share with others.
Google Earth features:
Photo realistic buildings: With Google Earth, you will be able to see 3D buildings in more cities of the world. Using its latest version, you can easily access hundreds of buildings from many cities including Boston, San Francisco, Zurich, Munich, Orlando and dozens more.
Smooth Navigation: Fly through the landscape using navigation controls. You can leap from 1 building to another. Zoom from outer space to ground level and view buildings and other structures as if you are standing near them.
Light and Shadow: With its new sunlight feature, you can see sunset and sunrise from anywhere. Use time slider to see dawn, dusk, and shadows move across the globe. Street view that was provided in Google Maps is now available in Google Earth.
View World in 3D- Tilt, Zoom and Rotate: Use trackball, keyboard, and mouse to navigate through the world. You can grab the image using the mouse and move around. Navigation compass enables users to manipulate view in many ways. Drag right slider down and up for zooming in and out. You can tilt the view by dragging the top slider right and left. By spinning navigators on screen wheel, you can rotate the image.
Explore the Sky: You can also view the outer space and planets using Google Earth. With this new sky feature, explore the various planets such as Mars, Jupiter in detail. You can view images of far away galaxies from Hubble Space telescope. Learn life cycle of stars and movement of planets and more using Google Earth.
Go to any place on Earth: If you are looking for a city, a specific address, intersection of 2 streets, a zip code, a state or a country, just type into “Fly to” box and click search.
Find local business: Google Earth has integrated Google maps that make your search easier. You can now look for businesses in any area. For instance, type in “restaurants in San Francisco” in search box and then click search button. Google Earth will fly to a viewpoint that shows 10 search result icons. Search result links will be seen on the left panel. Click on icon for getting more details.
Using Google Earth, you can watch 3D buildings and other structures from ground up. Tilt the screen and view the buildings in 3D. You will also be able to see valleys, mountains, and canyons in detail as the terrain is mapped in 3D.
Layers of Mapping: When you are exploring a location, turn on different layers of mapping such as shopping, roads, geographic features, services, food, gas, 3D buildings, and lodging.
