These layers are situated in left side panel on Google Earth window.
There is variety of layers available in this layer pane. Each one is important for Google Earth to view the information clearly. You will find layers, like terrain, Wikipedia, roads, 3D building, schools, super markets, national parks, etc. Each layer has a check box next to it to enable or to disable the layer. You can select all layers once by simply marking the ‘All layers’ option. You can also choose separate layers if you want to avoid crowding ‘Point of Interest’. Some layers will enable saving of you point of interest and will view them immediately when you want. Some layers are responsible to show you different in 3D view. One layer will display you all the features like borders, terrain and roads from a particular area. The 3D display layer, when enabled, gives you an excellent 3D view of buildings from all possible angles.
Google Earth is also a good mapping tool, using which you can search your path in a new city. If you want to know all the hotels, restaurants and cafeterias in your path, then you can turn on dining layer from layer panel. This layer will cause all food arenas around your path to appear in Google Earth. You can count the distance easily. For more specific type of food arena, just choose more option from this dining layer. Like this, you can also turn on school and colleges layer to search best educational institute for your children.
