Adding a business listing, viewing and managing it in Virtual earth
During the confirmation process, Live Search Maps will send you a letter at the address, which you have mentioned in the listing. This letter contains a PIN code. When you get this letter containing the PIN Code, do the following.
a) Open the website for Local Listing Center of Live Search.
b) Then if asked you need to sign in using your Windows Live ID.
c) When you have signed in, click on the option just for verifying the PIN code.
d) A box appears on the screen. In this box just enter the PIN code and click the option for submitting it.
Completion of the confirmation process will complete the procedure for adding your business listing. Ideally, your listing will get displayed at the Local Listing Center within 48 hours. You can view you business listing at the Local Listing Center. The procedure for doing so is as given below.
a) Open the Live Search Maps website.
b) Click on the option businesses.
c) Then in the search box, you should enter the name of your business. Note that as Live Search Maps is a worldwide service you should also enter the name of your city or postal code if you want to limit your search.
d) When you have entered the above-mentioned things, you can click the search button beneath the search box. Alternatively, you can also press ENTER key.
Managing your listing
Live Search Maps provides you the facility to manage your listing even after it appears on the Local Listing Center. You can at any time return to your listing and you can edit it, review it, change or add categories, or the delete the listing itself.
The procedure for managing your listing is as given below.
a) Open the website of Local Listing Center.
b) Then sign in using your Windows Live ID.
c) Then you can do one of the following things.
1. Edit your listing
For this just click, the option for editing the listing and then you can make the changes that you want.
2. Review your listing
For this just click, the option for reviewing your listing and then your business location is not correct you can correct it.
3. Changing or adding categories
For this click on the option for selecting categories and then click on the all categories tab. When you get the list of categories, you can choose more categories for your business. Alternatively, you can also use the search box in the same way as you had used it during the time of creating your listing.
You can also change their order, delete any of the categories, or provide additional descriptions for some categories just like you had done while creating your listing.
When you have done with the categories, you can click submit.
4. Removing your listing
Live Search Maps is aware that your business might close any time at any time in the future. In such a case, you would like to withdraw your listing from the local listing center. Therefore, it provides you the option to remove your listing any time you want.
