Changing the appearance of 3D maps
Once you install the Virtual Earth 3D (Beta) on your computer, you can direct the appearance of the 3D maps on your screen. If the internet connection for your computer is slow, reducing the size of the maps may be helpful. This is because the slower resolution maps have lesser data as compared to the greater resolution. Similarly, you also have the option to choose whether to show or not show the 3D building and structure images generated by the computer. These are generally displayed by the computer while you are viewing the viewing the downloaded images.
The procedure for changing the views of the maps is as follows.
a)Open the website of the Live Search Maps.
b)Then select the “3D” from the “navigation controls”.
c)Then click the button from the upper right corner of the webpage of the live Search Maps.
d)Then from the “performance settings” tab, go to the “Detail Settings” section. From here, choose the detail setting that you wish. If you wish to view the detail of each level, just click on the setting.
e) Clicking on the “show buildings” check box, would either, clear them or show them.
f)Then you should enter the correct available free space on the hard disk. This should be a positive number and it should not exceed the available free space. The free hard disk space can be entered in the box “Maximum disk cache size in megabytes”.
g)Then after this click “OK” twice.
Remember
For some network environments, it is important to mention a specific proxy server to view the maps with the 3D views. For specifying the proxy server for the settings for the 3D views, go to the “Network Settings” tab. From here, you would find the options for the proxy settings. Ideally, the Virtual Earth 3D Beta has the Windows Internet Explorer proxy settings.
