Drawing and marking specific area on the maps of the Live Search Maps
Similar to the drawing of the paths you can also mark some area of interest on the maps.
Drawing the path
You can draw different things on the maps on the screen. For this, you have the options for drawing the paths or marking an area of your interest on the maps etc.
This proves to be useful for you for example when you want to go to a particular place and decide or find out the right and the most convenient path for going there this drawing of the path on the maps will be very useful for you.
Procedure drawing on the maps
When you mark the start end and the middle points of your journey, using the ‘path drawing tool’ you can add from the collections to the maps. For this, go to the edit properties dialog box. Over there are a number of options as given bellow.
Title-
You can give the names to the points for your convenience. For this, you can give a name that does not contain more than 100 characters.
Notes-
In the notes, you can enter the useful information for that place. This can be either description or other relevant things. In the notes, you can enter up to a maximum of 1,000 characters.
Photo URL-
It is a great enhancement for the maps if you could add to them photos of the locations of interest. For this, the Live Search Maps provides the option of adding the links that take the viewers to the photos of that place.
For example, if you want to add a photo of some important landmark you can add a pushpin, which will take the viewers to the photo of that landmark. This pushpin you should directly place on the point on the map itself, which shows the location of that landmark.
URL, which could provide additional information about the places-
This too would enhance the use of the maps and make them more informative. You can place the link to a URL that contains the details the place on the map. You should place this URL directly on the point on the map that shows the place.Thus, after you complete the whole procedure for drawing the path and marking the important points on the path and then add the properties that you desire to add to the maps click save.
This completes the procedure and thus this will create paths on the maps along with the features that you have selected.
Marking area on the map
In the similar manner, you can also mark some specific areas on the maps. You can use this feature for marking some specific areas on the maps if these have some specialties. The procedure for this too is very similar to the drawing the path on the maps.
a) First you should open the website of ‘Live Search Maps’. You should use the Windows Live ID for this.
b) Then from the Collections click on the Open your collections. The Collections is on the toolbar.
c) Then from the options, you should select the ‘area drawing tool’.
d) Then on the map click on the point from where you want the area should begin. Then you can click on ‘additional points’.
