Editing the Colors Live Search Maps
Once you draw the path or mark the area on the maps, you can edit their colors later on. Sometimes you may feel marking some of the areas of interest on the maps. This area may include some special features that you would like to separate the area from the other part of the map. Live Search Maps offers you the ability to do so. The detailed procedure for the same is explained below.
First, you need to activate the ‘area marking tool’. You can do this by clicking on the point on the maps from where you want that the area to begin. Then hold down the mouse’s key, drag the Explorer pointer to cover the relevant area you wish. While you are doing this, click on ‘additional points’. After completing the selection of the area you wanted, double click on the point, from where you began marking the area to close the marking tool. Now, you can add additional features to this area that you have marked. To do this go to the Edit items, properties, dialog box. From these available options, select the proper collection that you want to apply to the marked area. Then you can enter any of the following things in the map.
Notes- In these notes, provide any relevant information that will provide the viewers useful information about the area. This improves the usability of the maps and the area that you have marked. For this, there is a limit of maximum of 1000 characters.
Title- The title shows the name of the area and thus it informs the viewers about the area they are viewing. On the other hand, you can also give a title that tells the importance of the area that you have marked. However, remember that the title you give should not exceed beyond 100 characters.
URL containing additional information for that area- Many a times it so happens that the viewers may require more information than what you have provided in the notes. So, it is important to add a link for the URL that will offer this additional information. Similarly, like the photo URL you should add this URL directly at the point on the map that shows specific location. After marking the correct area and providing additional features to the marked area, now you have to click ‘save’. This will complete your procedure and thus will create map that has the features you had selected.
Photo URL- A photo of the area or one containing the significant feature of that area can be a great enrichment in the usability of the map. The Live Search Maps offers you the facility of adding a URL that provides the photos of that area. This URL can be added in the form of a pushpin on a point on the maps itself.
Editing the color of the path or the area- Once you make the path or the area on the map, you can edit its features at any of time. You can make changes in it depending on your wish anytime. It allows great flexibility for the users.
