Here you have to do one of the following.

3. For choosing the route and directions, which you want, click the route from under the Show directions from tab.

4. For viewing the multiple routes for your destination, click the option saying view all. It is located under the Show directions from. Enter your start point's address or partial address that you know in the Start box. You can also enter landmarks, neighborhood etc. After this click Get directions.

5. For getting directions from a specific start point under Or get directions from click A specific location.

a) For returning to the Live Search Maps, you can click Go to Live Search Maps option. This option is available under the map which displays your selection.

b) Then for viewing a driving step and also to move between the steps, you can click either Next step or Previous step.

Notes

If you want to get driving directions you can directly right click on the start and end points of your journey and then click Drive From and Drive To.

If you are already accustomed to the first and last steps in your journey, you can hide them. This way a briefer set of directions will be displayed on the maps.

Note that the traffic data is available only for some routes only.

Abbreviating driving directions

when you get driving directions for your journey the first and last steps would just describe how to reach the nearby highway or major road. It is likely that, you are familiar with at least the initial driving steps as you may be knowing the starting point and the surrounding area.

You can choose to hide such steps as this would create a shorter set of directions. Therefore, you may find it is easy to follow the directions. Besides that if you want to print these driving directions you would require fewer pages.

The procedure for doing so is as follows.

a) Open the Live Search Maps.

b) Then get driving directions.

c) Then in the section saying detailed directions from the left pane you have to do one of the following.

d) For hiding or restoring your start details, click Hide start details or show start details.

e) These options are located at the end of the driving step.

f) Similarly for hiding or restoring your end details, click hide end details OR show end details from the end of the step.

Notes

you are able to hide the first and end steps only when they describe either how to reach or drive from a major highway towards your destination.

Remember you are not able to hide both the start and the end details at the same time.

I highly recommend the Google Software Pack. It comes with a lot of great software that is all FREE. You can also pick and choose which of the software products you want to download. You don't have to download them all. If you have a Mac or you don't want the Google Software Pack for some reason you can download it directly from the main site.
