Live Search Maps changing views, and Drawing on map

Change map views

Labels: If you choose to view labels, you will be able to se an overlay of highway, street, landmark names, etc. You can view labels on photomaps in aerial or bird’s eye views.

Notes:

Switching between the tow kinds of views is very simple. Just click 2 for the 2D mode and 3 for the 3D mode.

Bird’s eye views are available for most major metropolitan areas of the world. You can get more information about the available areas in the Navigate 3D maps with the mouse or keyboard, or Navigate 2D maps with the mouse or keyboard.

a) Live Search Maps provides you shortcut options for using its features. Some shortcut keys are as follows

b) For switching to Road views, you can press R

c) For switching to Aerial views, you can press A

d) For switching to aerial views along with labels, you can press H

e) For switching to Aerial views along with labels, you can press H

f) For switching to bird’s eye view you can press just press O

g) For switching to Birds eye views with labels, you can just press B

h) Changing the visible area of map

For changing the visible area of map, you can close, collapse, or move panels like the view control or welcome panel, if you want to view more visible area of map. If you want to us the features once again, you can restore them. The procedure for doing so is as given under.

1. Open Live Search Maps

2. On the website, you can do one of the following.

a) If you want to open a welcome panel, click “Welcome” on the toolbar.

b) If you want to close the welcome panel, click the X button on the panel’s toolbar.

c) If you want to collapse the view control, click the minimize button on the right side of the view control.

d)If you want to expand the view control click the maximize button.

e) For moving the collections editor, click and drag the collections editor’s title bar and this will move the collections editor as well.

f) For opening the collections editor, click Collections on the toolbar. From the options that are displayed click Open your collections.

g) For collapsing the collections editor you can click on the minimize button.

h)For expanding the collections editor, click the maximize button on the title bar.

i) For closing the collections editor, click the close button i.e. the X button on the title bar.

Notes:

a) You can collapse a panel without any worry. Collapsing a panel is not going to delete its content.

Drawing on map

You can draw on the 2D maps provided by Live Search Maps. It provides you several drawing tools. They are placed at the bottom of the collections editor. These are useful for illustrating a planned course of travel or for illustrating a trail. You can also outline a particular area of interest.

Draw a path

The procedure for drawing a path is as given below.

a) Sign in to Live Search Maps, using Windows Live ID.
