Live search maps Managing pushpin and collections

Collections are very useful tools for storing information. You can create your own collections, or edit them using windows live ID. You can also view others collections.

You can delete your pushpin easily whether it may be on the map or in the collections editor. Just directly point on it on the map and then you can click the option Delete this item. If you want to delete a pushpin from the collections editor, point it the editor, and then click Delete this item.

However before deleting a pushpin you should note that once you delete it, it is deleted from the map as well as the current location.

Collections

A collection is a thing in which you can store information in an organized way. This can be easily done with the help of collections editor. You do not need to save the changes you make in these collections. Live search maps will do this automatically for you, it saves any changes as you make them. You can also add, to a collection, any item that you get in the results pane for your search.

Collections are very useful because you can store important information in them. The procedure for creating a collection is given below.

Creating a collection

a)First you need to sign in to live search maps. For this you have to use your windows live ID.

b)Then, click Collections from the toolbar. From the options that will be displayed click Open your collections.

c)Choose New collection. If this option is not visible, click Your collections, and there you can get the option New collection.

d)When you click on New collection, you will have to give it a title. You can also add some useful notes to it. You can categorize your collection y typing appropriate tags for it. (Tags and tagging is disused below in brief.)

e)If you want that the other users of live search maps be able to access your collection, select 'Turn on sharing' option for which a check box is available.

Then you can select the further options for sharing.

f)After doing all this click Save.

Opening your own collections

a)Sign in to live search maps using Windows Live ID.

b)Then from toolbar choose Collections, and then Open your collections.

c)If you are having multiple collections, you can choose the desired one from collections editor where you can find a list of your collections.

Opening somebody else's collection?

a)For this also you first need to sign in using your Windows Live ID.

b)Then look for explore collections or search for a collection.

c)Click Open collection in the left pane near the bottom of your desired item.

Adding an items from somebody else's collection to your collections

a)Sign in to live search maps using your Windows Live ID.

b)Then look for a collection or explore collections.

c)Then from the left pane, at click Add to collection at the bottom of the items which you want to add to your own collections.

d)Then choose the collection or collections, in which you want to add the selected item.

e)This completes the procedure. Click Save.

An alternative method of adding such items to your collection is as follows. First directly point at the desired item on the map. Then click Add to collection. Then choose the collection or collections which you want to add this item to, and Click Save.
