Location finder and searching the Live Search Maps
You can also use the Live Search Maps, for getting results having the listings of businesses, collections, etc, of others.
The problems in the location finder may arise because of the following reasons.
a)If you do not have an internet connection or there may not be any Wi-Fi signals in the proximity.
This is important because the location finder calculates your location with the help of the internet connection. However, it does not really matter if the connection is not a Wi-Fy connection. If you internet connection is a local area network i.e. LAN connection and if there are no Wi-Fy signals in the proximity, the location finder would use your IP address for finding the location of your computer.
Therefore, if both of them are not available, it will not be able to find your location.
b)Alternatively, this can even happen if the Microsoft ActiveX controls are not supported by your browser or you have not enabled them.
The procedure for enabling them is as under.
a)if you are using the “Internet Explorer”, then from the tools menu, select “Internet options”.
b)Then from the security tab choose “Trusted sites” and from the options choose “sites”.
c)Then enter the website of the Live Search Maps in the box saying Add this Web site to the zone box.
d)However, check whether the “Require server verification (https) for all sites in this zone” is selected. It is very important that this box be un-selected. After you confirm this, you can click “OK”.
e)Then go to the “Trusted sites” and from there the option “Custom Level”.
f)Then from under the “ActiveX controls and plug-ins”, you can set one or more of the following options.
Option for downloading the ActiveX controls signed by you
The option for running the ActiveX controls and plug-ins
The option scripting ActiveX controls which are marked safe for scripting
After you choose, the desired options you can click “OK” and then “Yes” and then again “OK”.
Note:
The procedure for enabling the ActiveX controls is different for the different internet browsers. Therefore, for the browsers other than the internet explorer you can refer to the help menu of the respective browser.
The location finder is not any longer supported by the Live Search Maps. You would not be able to find the locations that you could not find with the help of the search box from the website of Live Search Maps.
Searching the internet and viewing your own results on maps
Using the Live Search Maps, you can also get the information i.e. the results having the businesses, locations, and collections of others.
In addition to the above option, you can also search the other listings with the MSN as from the White Pages of MSN, etc.
The procedures for them are as given bellow.
When you are viewing the Live Search Maps, you would find a search box on the screen. In this search box can be used for searching these things.

In the search box enter one of the following and get the result accordingly
A full address, or a partial address, or a place in the neighborhood.
