Managing Your Listing on Virtual Earth

Removing your listing

a) You will find the option for this, besides your listing at the Local Listing Center. Click on the option.

b) You have the following two options, the first one is to remove your listing, and the second is to remove yourself as the administrator for that listing. if you chose the option to remove your self as the administrator of the listing, note that you wont be able to return to that listing and edit it in the future. For doing so, you would again need to go through the PIN verification.

c) When you have chosen the option that you want click continue.

d) Your listing will surely be removed from local listing center in 48 hours.

Editing your listing

When your listing has been added to the Live Search Maps you, you can edit it at any time you want. This is a very useful aspect of adding listing at the Live Search Maps. This is because it makes possible to update or add information and data to the same listing.

Moreover, Live Search Maps will not display your listing at the Local Listing Center, until you have confirmed it through an email or a phone call.

Searching your listing at the Local Listing Center

Procedure

a) Open the Local Listing Center website and there click the option Businesses.

b) Then in the search box, enter the name of your business. You also need to mention your postal code or name of your city. This would limit the search your area and therefore you would get limited but more relevant results.

c) After entering the above-mentioned particulars you can press the ENTER key or just click the search button.

d) You will get a list of businesses. Choose your business from this list. This will take you to the business details page of your listing.

Editing your listing

Procedure

a) As above, click the option Business and then choose the option edit listing. After this click continue.

b) You may be prompted to sign-in using your Windows Live ID. Having a Windows Live ID becomes imperative when you add a listing at the Local Listing Center. Therefore, if you do not have a Windows Live ID sign you should create one.

c) When you sign-in to Live Search Maps, go to the section containing your contact information. There fill out your contact information.

d) Then the next section for basic information. Here fill out the basic information about your business.

e) Then, is the section for adding additional contacts. Here there are three sections. These are Supplemental phone numbers, Supplemental web pages, Supplemental email. You can add up to 6 items in each of the sections.

f) In the section for hours of operation, choose the hours from the list. When you click on the operating hour’s option, you would see the list of business hours. You can also select the days at which your business remains, closed. Just tick the check boxes of the days on which your business remains closed.
