Modifying the maps using the Live Search Maps
The Live Search Maps in addition to providing the maps containing useful information to the viewers also provides the ability for editing the maps and including in them the things that they find useful. Therefore, they can mark paths area etc on the maps. In addition to the marking these, you can also at any time edit these things.
For editing the maps at the later stages, the options that you can use are, changing the colors, width, style, or even altering the path or the area that you have previously marked.
Changing the width, and style of the path and the area
You can change the line width for the paths or the area. For this just select the line or the area. Then go to the collections editor and from there select the line width tool or you can also use the line style tool also. You should choose according to what you want to do.
Then accordingly click on what you wish to do.
Modifying the points on path or the area
Then as above select the line or the area and then use one of the following methods.
a) If you wish to change the point on the path or the area, click on it and then holding down the mouse key drag the point to the position on which you want to place that point.
b) If you want to delete a point from the path or the area, right click on that point and then click Delete node.
Adding a new point on the map
If you wish to add a new point on the map then follow the following procedure.
a) Select the path by clicking on it with the mouse.
b) Then right click on a point on the path. This point should be next to the position at which you want to add the new point. Then from the options that appear select the Continue drawing.
c) Decide a specific position on which you want to add the point and then click at that point. Similarly, you can add more points if you want.
d) When you finish marking the required number of points, double-click on the last point, which you added.
This will stop the process of addition of new points.
The advantages of these features
Whenever you use the drawing feature of the Live Search Maps you use it for adding more information to the maps or for getting or making the maps more useful for providing the information about the specific paths and areas. However, as the paths and the information about the area are such topics which need constant updating for provision of good and accurate information these abilities of modifying the paths and the areas is a very useful thing for you.
Many times, it happens that you get to know about the requirements of the viewers view the maps. Therefore, you may need to add mnay additional things. For example, you can give the information of the places, which you did not give importance while drawing the paths and the area, etc.
