Saving links to the collections in Windows Live Favorites
You have the options for saving the links to collections in the Windows Live Favorites. For this, you can save the collections that you receive from others or, you get from the search results, or you find out while exploring the collections. You can save them as favorites and the procedure for it as given bellow.
a)From the Live Search Maps open the desired collection by just clicking on it.
b)Then click “Add to favorite’s option” from the collection viewer.
c)Then using your Windows Live ID, you access the Windows Live Favorites.
d)Then choose the check box “Share this favorite”, and click “OK”.
You can view your favorite collections from the toolbar by clicking on “Collections” and from the options choosing “Favorite Collections”.
Notes:
Only the creators of the collections can edit them. Therefore, when you store the collections in the “Favorites” you cannot edit their contents. More you have stored any collection in the favorites, and after that the creator of that collection decides to make it private, then collection would because unavailable. This would also automatically remove the collection from your “Favorites”.
Because of this, whenever in the future, the creator makes it public again and if you want to have it in the Favorites, you would need to do the procedure of adding again.
If you wish to explore the collection, go to the “Collection” menu from the toolbar and from the option choose “Explore collections”.
You can get the complete catalog for the collections from the website www.passthepoi.com. Remember that this website and particularly the webpage is available only in English.
Making it easier to find your collections
The tags play very important role for this. They act as the keywords for the people who search for the collections. Therefore, you should always add the suitable keywords for them. For example if you have made a collection for tourist attractions in England, you can add the tags as “Travel, Attractions, England”.
The procedure for adding the tags is as given bellow.
a)Access the Live Search Maps with the help of the Windows Live ID.
b)Then from the toolbar click ‘Collections” and from the options choose “Open your collections”.
c)Then from the list of collections choose the one, which you want to add the tag.
d)Then after doing so click “Actions, and then “Show properties”.
e)You would find a tags box in the properties. Here enter the tags i.e. the keywords that you wish to associate with the collection. Remember to separate them with commas.
f)After this click “Save”.
Marking the points of interest on the maps
You can use the pushpins for marking the points of interest on the maps.
For this, you would need to create a pushpin on the maps
a)Access the Live Search Maps.
b)Then right click on the point where you want other add the pushpin. From the options displayed, choose “Add pushpin”.
