Signing In and Searching Local Listings Center and Printing the Data
Sign in with Windows Live ID or with cookies
You need an ID to login to the Local Listings Center while adding the listings or for the login in the future once you add, your listing on it. At the time of adding the listing, you may opt to sign in to Local Listing Center using your Windows Live ID. Or the cookies or you can also choose a separate ID.
The Windows Live ID is your user name and password for signing in to any MSN, Windows Live, or Office Live sites and services. Alternately If you are having an account as Hotmail, Passport Network, or Messenger, you can even use it in place of Windows Live ID.
The browser's cookies are Small text files. These are created and sent to your computer by websites. They are a means to store information on your PC. The information that you can store may include the preferences among the contents of those sites.
You can use the windows live ID to sign in to Live Search Local Listing Center using any computer. The procedure for this is as under.
a) Access the home page of Live Search Local Listing Center.
b) Then click on the tab “Sign in”.
c) After this enter your Windows Live ID and then again click “Sign in”.
Sign in with Cookies
Alternatively you can also sign in to the Local Listings Center using the cookies. However remember that there are some limitations if you sign in using the cookies. They are as follows.
a) If this case you won’t be able to edit, your listing using any other computer than the one used to add the listing.
b) Then the second major drawback is that anybody who gets the chance to access that computer would be able to edit your listing.
c) You cannot remove the cookies from your computer or disable them; neither can you change the settings of the browsers. If you do this you won’t be able to access your listing. For this you would have to again go through the whole procedure for confirming the listing.
Both these methods are simple. However if you do not have any windows Live ID even you can follow the instructions that the listings center would provide online, after you click Sign up.
Searching the internet and viewing the results directly on the map
Upon searching through the Local Listings Center you can get the results that contain the items listed by the other users of the Local Listings Center. You can also get the results for the items from the listings from the white pages of the MSN.
The items belonging to the following categories can be obtained using the Local Listings Center.
a) Business
b) Locations
c) Collections
Printing the maps and other information obtained from the Live Search Maps
You are able to print the search results, map, contents for your collections which is a collection of map items, pushpins, search results, etc that you create online. Moreover you can also print the editor notes, and other type of information, which the Live Search Maps provide to you. The other information may include for example the driving directions, etc.
