Keeping on the Direct3D Acceleration and DirectDraw Acceleration
For running the Virtual Earth 3D on your computer you should keep on the Direct3D Acceleration and DirectDraw Acceleration.
However sometimes it happens that that even though you had made it on, the updating of the display drivers may disable them. This too is troublesome and if you do the updating you have to again enable them. For this, you have to turn off and then again restart your computer and then perform all the procedure it again.
It even this does enable the display Direct3D and DirectDraw acceleration then you may not have the display driver for the display adapter is not capable of running them. You should check whether it is or not and if not then you need to update to such a display driver.
Speed of the display driver
Further, the display driver should be running at the full speed. This too is imp for the running the Virtual Earth 3D Beta version.
You can set to full by the following procedure.
This depends on the operating system that your computer has.
If it has the windows XP follow the bellow given procedure.
a) From the “Start” menu, select “Run”.
b)This would display a text box on the screen. In this, enter the “desk.cpl”.
c)Then from the “Settings” tab choose “Advanced”.
d)Then check whether the slider for the Hardware acceleration is set to full. This can be done from the Troubleshoot tab.
e)The press “OK” twice, one after other.
f)After this the internet browser should be closed and then again restart it.
Remember that the display driver should support the hardware acceleration. Only then, the hardware acceleration slider would be available for use.
The version of display driver
This too is very important for running the 3D hardware acceleration. The version of the display driver should be capable for running the display adapter. you should therefore check the version of your display adapter. You can get the complete information about the version of the display driver from the manufacturer. However, you can also find the version for the display driver by the following procedure.
a)If you are having windows XP as the operating system then from the “Start” menu, choose “Run”. Alternatively, if your computer system has the windows Vista as the operating system, from the “Start” menu choose the “Start Search” text box.
b) After this first step, you will find a text box on the screen. In this text box, enter “desk.cpl”.
c)Then go to the advanced settings from the “Settings” tab or directly click on “Advanced Settings”.
d)Then open the “Adapter” menu, go to the “Adapter type” area. From here, choose “Properties”.
e)Then you can view the version information by clicking the “Driver” tab.
f) You can also install uninstalled and recently downloaded display drivers. For this, you just have to click on the “Update Driver” and it would automatically install the uninstalled drivers.
