Viewing and managing your listing
Live search maps viewing your business listing: When you have successful submitted your application to add your listing at the Local Listing Center; your listing will be added over it. However, note that this may take up to 48 hours. You can check whether your listing has appeared at the Local Listing Center or not. The procedure for doing so is given below.
a) Open the Live Search Maps website.
b) Then choose the option Businesses.
c) On doing so a search box will appear on the screen. In this search box, you should enter the name of your business and your city. Instead of city you can also enter the postal code of your city.
d) When you have entered these things you can click “Search”.
Managing your listings: When you add your listing at the Local Listing Center, you are its owner and therefore you can at any time return to it to manage it. For managing, you can do several things like editing, reviewing, changing categories, or even removing it. The procedure for doing these things is given below.
a) Open the official website of Local Listing Center.
b) Then for managing your listing you need to sign in to Live Search Maps using your Windows Live ID.
c) When you do this you have the following options for managing your listing.
Editing your listing
1. For this just choose the option for editing the listing.
2. Then you can edit it as you want.
Reviewing your listing
1. For this choose the option to review your listing.
2. If you find that the location for your business is not correct on the map you can correct it. For this just click and hold the pushpin for your business and then drag it to the correct location.
Changing categories
1. For this choose the option to change the categories.
2. Then go to the All categories tab and from the list of categories you can choose the ones which you want.
3. Alternatively, you can also enter a keyword in the search box and click search or press enter. When you get the results, choose the categories that you want.
4. Like before if you choose more than one category, you can arrange them in the order of importance.
5. Similarly, you add additional description for the categories like Restaurants and Hotels.
6. When you have done with changing the categories, you can click Submit.
Removing your listing: As your business can close at any time in the future, Live Search Maps provides you the facility to remove your listing whenever you want.
Alternatively, rather than removing your listing from the Local Listing Center, you can also dissociate yourself from it. Thus, you clients would not contact you in the future. The procedure for doing these things is given below.
a) Go to the Local Listing Center and there when you find your listing, click on the option to remove it. This option lies besides it.
b) Then further you get two options, one is then to remove your listing and the second one is to remove you as the administrator for that listing. You can choose any one of them.
