Virtual Earth adding the business listings
This feature is a very useful one for the businesses. Using this they can grow as they can find the clients without doing any search or advertising for them. All they have to do is add their listing on the Virtual Earth online directory. Similarly, the clients or anybody who is using the Virtual Earth can view those listings through the live search local listing center. For this, the users have to enter the search for the business of that type. In addition, the Virtual Earth would provide them the business listings for that place.
For this, the businesspersons should add their listings to the live search local listings center. However if they want to protect the use of their listings by any unauthorized person then they can select not to display the listings on the live search maps. The Virtual Earth would publish the listings only on confirmation from the businessperson or organization.
The procedure for adding the listings is as mentioned under.
a) Access the ‘Live Search Maps Local Listings Center’ website.
b) On this website, they will find the option for adding new business listings. On clicking on it the website would provide a form. This is the form for adding the listing to the live search maps. The businesspersons or the companies should properly fill in the form and submit it.
c) After submitting the form, click on ‘Check your listing’.
Here they would need to do one of the bellow given options.
If their business type matches any of the categories that are present in the list, click on the appropriate category. After this, they can continue further.
However if their listing does not match any of the listings they can create their own listing and then continue further. You would find the options for doing so.
Similarly, if the Virtual Earth i.e. the Live Search Mapsdoes not return any listings even then you can continue with the procedure.
d) Then there is the section for provision of contact. In this section, you should fill in the contact with which you want to carry out the business.
e) Then there is the section for filling in the basic information related to the business. The appropriate and genuine information should be provided.
f) The live search map would provide you the option for providing at the most 6 items in some of the sections. These sections include the Supplementary phone numbers, supplementary web pages, supplementary emails etc. for adding the items in these sections you have to click on the Add number, Add web address, Add e-mail address, etc.
g) Then there is the option for filling in the ‘Hours of operation’. This is the time range between which, you would like that the clients should contact you. In this section, you also have to mention the days on which your business would remain closed. There are check boxes available for the different days. The days, which you want to mark as off, can be selected by just clicking on the checkbox for that day.
