NASA – provides geosynchronous orbit satellites

NASA has put up its head in the field of science. NASA has played a significant and a crucial role to develop the satellite TV transmission technology. However, the TV signals are only one type of data transmitted by the satellites. Computer images, telephone signals as well as computer data are also transmitted throughout the world using satellites.

There are several American countries sell the satellite data-transmission service. This commercial system of space interaction advanced from the high-risk technology that was extended and tested by NASA in the year 1960. This string based technology allowed the American telecommunication industries to follow the path in operating as well as building communication satellites.

The series of Application technology Satellites of NASA are developed between the years of 1966 and 1974. These satellites play vital role in motivating the advancements in telecommunication technologies. These areas include solid state high power transmitters, use of digital computers, advanced materials such as graphite composites to build the satellites, Geosynchronous orbit, that orbits with the earth to keep the satellite above a specific point on the ground always, large antennae providing high quality signals to the small ground receivers, and satellite stabilization.

It keeps the satellite from wobbling in the orbit. NASA has started the Geosynchronous orbit (GEO) satellites to be able to look down on Low Earth Orbit satellites (LEO). The Geo satellite has the power to transmit the information between the LEO satellites. The information is also conveyed from the LEO satellite via the GEO satellite and down to the ground. This technology simply points out that the satellite companies along with NASA can activate their satellites making use of minimum ground stations.

NASA has also uploaded six Tracking and Data Relay Satellites of its own. The Tracking and Data Relay Satellites is a network of the GEO satellites provide interaction and tracking services to the low earth orbiting spacecraft and the space shuttle. The highly developed satellite in the end of NASA’s trial communication satellites is the Advanced Communication Technology Satellite. It was launched in the year 1993, September. The Advanced Communication Technology Satellite works as a switchboard in the sky. The universities, industries and the government to form new services of satellite, which features real-time television transmission to airliners extensively, use it.

Now, the commercial companies are taking benefit of this new technology. They are taking the lead in providing the satellite services to the public, in general. However, with Advanced Communication Technology Satellite, NASA has remained in the front and at the topmost position to develop data transmission as well as satellite technology. In this way, NASA has played an essential position and proved to be very efficient in the field of science for worldwide communications. It has offered a notable contribution to develop the satellite TV transmission technology, which is now very significant for all people in general. NASA World Wind uses DEM data. This data was taken from NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography mission. This data provides people views of topographic features like Mount Everest or Grand Canyon in 3-D. Besides this, the program NASA World Wind also has Bathymetry data through which users view the ocean features, like trenches and ridges in rich 3-D.
