For using the Ring Labels in NASA World Wind version 1.4, User has to set Vertical Exaggeration to 1.0x.
Version 1.1- In this version, the Saturn add-on has been enhanced with latest Cassini imagery of all the moons of Saturn. Furthermore, it incorporates the excellent Planetary Rings plug-in for NASA World Wind version 1.4.
Version 1.2 – This version is updated with fabulous photos of several moons. Moreover, it includes some of the newly named surface features, which can be of great use. However, user must remember that for the ‘Ring Label’ layer there is necessity of vertical exaggeration to be set to 1.0x. No elevation data is present for this particular system. Therefore, it will not cause any problem.
Version 1.3 - This is the latest version, which consists of the novel surface maps for all the moons of planet Saturn. It is more interesting feature in this version. It not only includes minor place name updates but also vectors of Titan's winds. Both of this is of great use to all researchers and scientists.
Now, we will see how to view planet Saturn using this fabulous add-on. For this, you have to choose Saturn option located in the file menu of World Wind program. With just few clicks of your mouse, you can explore the huge treasure of planet Saturn. Isn’t it fabulous? At present, you will find the additional ring data, which includes not only Radio wave transmittance but also Schematic ring diagram. Both of them can be activated by a simple procedure. You have to choose the appropriate ring map located in the Planetary Rings configuration from Layer Manger. You can do this with a right click on the Planetary Rings option. Then choose desired ring’s texture from properties option. Moreover, you get liberty to use legend option. For this, just turn on 'Ring Legends' located in the Layer Manager.
Until now, terrestrial telescopes were used to view Planet Saturn. Space missions like Cassini deep, Voyager and Pioneer have successfully visited this ringed planet. The NASA World Wind Saturn Add-on blends imagery at very high resolution. The Cassini mission and Hubble Space Telescope gather all this imagery. Planet Saturn is represented with a Hubble maps at high resolution. The moons as well as rings can be visualized with high-resolution measurements and photography from ‘Cassini’. Surface features that are present on the moons are identified by their classification and name.
