There are some advanced options in this version like CPU/GPU rendering. CPU rendering is much correct but it requires a much powerful CPU. GPU rendering is faster but it needs a modern graphics card. For enabling GPU rendering you have to navigate to the ‘tools’ menu, and then click on ‘options’, and navigate to the ‘atmosphere’ section and then select ‘false’ from the drop down menu.

WMS importer: WMS importer is one a kind of web server, which permits you to requests images of maps of a particular area. If you want to make use of WMS importer then you have to follow certain steps, which are given below.

First you have to launch the WMS importer by using Tools menu. Now you have to find the URL for server you wish to view. The importer includes the URL of a server by default, which includes maps showing the information of Australia.

Now paste the URL into URL bar and then click on “Get WMS tree” button. It will contact with the server and it also downloads the collection of all layers it has available. This list is displayed in a tree layout. If you will select any layer then it shows you little preview of the layer.

For adding the contents of the server as a regular world wind layer you have to insert an XML file name and a layer title and then click on save as XML button and you will see that WW xml file is saved in \Config/Earth directory and it also adds the layer in layer manager. Moreover, from there you are able to browse the maps in World Wind.

This layer is added to World wind permanently. And if you want to remove this layer then you have to right-click on main layer title and then select the delete option.

Anaglyph 3D mode: This feature permits you to make use of anaglyph glasses. To turn on this feature, you have to tick’ Anaglyph 3D view mode from World Wind’s view menu. If you want to turn it off then return to the view menu and then untick ‘Anaglyph 3D view mode.
