The WWKONTROL: a plug-in that helps you to find your position
Canosso made a plug-in, which allows the users to control World Wind. This enables this Plug-in to general idea your existing position. The point to be noted is that the script works for World Wind 1.3.2 and higher. This is known as WWKontrol. A package of three files is present in it. You can down load one of the three files the three files are as follows: wwkontrol.zip, wwkontrolsmall.zip or even. Down load these files from below and unzip it into your World Wind directory.
Installation: To install WWKONTROL first choose plug-ins and load there WW Kontrol. After that choose in the Tool menu the item WWKontrol you will see a form with a Compass Rose, “Titilator”, and Mini World Map, a few scrollbars plus a lot of buttons present in different colors.
If you are using small and tiny version you will get an error message “Input string was not in the correct format”. If you start at Latitude 0 Longitude 0 shift Earth slightly you will see the form. If you wish to use the large version you can use horizontal scrollbar its range is from (0 to 4464956 meters) for altitude change this feature is present on the top. In another version, you can use vertical scrollbar for changing or selecting different altitudes. You can use (0 to 1 million meters) on the left, the Descend, Ascend buttons or buttons for different altitudes for example (15K=15000 meters or even 100K=100000 meters, 1M=1millon meters, 10M=10million meters and Outer Space=4464956 meters). There is no graphical information existing for altitude.
Changing the Heading: There are different methods for large versions and other versions so we have to use different methods for example in the larger version you have to use horizontal scrollbar with white background, which is situated, below the input fields. In other versions, you can input the heading also press the West H, East H buttons. If you want to view north, you simply press the view North button. Similarly, headings can be changed for an example you can change the heading ‘compass rose’. The heading degrees will start from top to bottom will be changed after clicking the title mentioned above. If you click left, the heading will either be less or it will add.
Change the tilt: There is no relation between Tilt and altitude in this application. If tilt is running program then Altitude buttons will not work. Also scroll bars and input fields will not work. Therefore, the only possibility to solve the problem is to press No Tilt button then go to wished altitude and again set the tilt. In large version, you can use vertical scroll bar available with a blue background if you want to change tilt in the middle of application. In other versions you can have many options like you can input the Tilt, press the Tilt, above buttons. If you wish to have no Tilt presses the No Tilt button.
The current title available is “Titilator”. It consists of a blue arrow, which has the ability to widen analogous to your view. The maximum tilt is 0 to 85. If you click this arrow, the tilt will be changed.
