World wind add-ons
2005 Hurricane imagery add-on: This add-on is useful because it shows imagery for numerous 2005 hurricanes. This imagery is brought together and processed for helping rescuers, government officials and property owners to get the data they require.
Atlantic hurricane tracks: with the help of this add-on we can see all Atlantic hurricanes from 1851.
Cities layer with citynames: This add-on Marks 2341 countries and 192 capitals and then it displays the names of all marked cities. If we have the updated version 0.3 then we can also get the values of cities population of all cities. Any person who already has the version of this add-on can download as well as install updated version for adding population values.
Climate Mapper: this plug-in is designed for world wind so that project designers get access for historical weather information and projections of climate changing. The creation of climate Mapper is the result of USAID’s effort for developing their climate change adaptation guidance manual. If you want to load this d-on in your computer then first you have to click on load/unload window from plug-ins menu. After this click on climate Mapper from the dialog box, then press Load button, the indicator which is placed near’ climate Mapper’ must change into green. After this click on climate Mapper button from world wind screen, you will observe that one interactive screed appears in the top side of world wind.
DYNAGIs boundaries: This add-on contains the collection of national and administrative boundaries and it also contains labels for 249 countries. The boundaries of countries are inserted in two versions. The default version displays boundaries without coastlines and other version displays countries boundaries ‘outlined’.
European rivers: With the help of this add-on we can see European rivers.
Feeds: This add-on reads geocoded RSS feeds. This add-on makes use of geo tags for displaying the contents of feeds at world wind globe. If you want to use this add-on the same process is followed like first you must load world wind and then you have to open the plug-ins menu and then click on load/unload window. After this click on ‘feeds’ from load/unload window, then press the load button, and the indicator which is placed near ‘feeds’ must turn into green.
GPS tracker: this add-on allows you for getting actual time GPS data from several NMEA standard serial GPS devices and Garmin USB devices.
Global seismic stations: this add-on displays 11,812 stations with their names, identifying status, elevations, code and network.
Holy places: This add-on displays various holy places and important sites for downloading the holy places.
KML importer: kml and kmz files that include icons are loaded through this add-on. To use this icon first you must load world wind and then click on load/unload from plug-ins menu. After this from load/unload window click on KML Importer and now press in load button, the indicator which is placed near to KML Importer should turn into green.
Star 3D: This add-on is inserts actively rendered starfield background for world wind by making use of data of Hipparcos catalog.
