Control Window in Earth browser

Using the control window of Earth browser, you can control display of Earth. The control window is very flexible. It is indeed a powerful tool that enables users to access Earth browser data sets. With the help of this control window, you can also set viewing options for your own data sets.

Collapse/Restore: Control window can also be collapsed along window side or into one of the four corners. All you have to do is click on the restore/ collapse button. Thus using the collapse/restore button, you can make the control window less obstructive as well as restore the control window to its original size.

Time Control: When you see the control window carefully, you will find a ruler that displays current time range viewable for currently selected datasets. By using the ruler, it is also possible to set exact time. You will have to use current time arrow that is along time ruler. To stop or start the animation, all you need to do is push play/pause button. The button is situated on right hand side of time ruler. The speed of animation can also be controlled by using the red slider. The button is placed below play/pause button.

Earth browser data tabs: The Earth browser tabs will show you standard earth browser datasets

Personal Data tab: With the help of personal data tab, you will be able to see your personal datasets, which you can easily create and customize.

Elevation zoom: The camera elevation can be easily controlled with zoom slider on left hand side of controls. However, the easiest way to zoom is by using the wheel that is on the mouse button. When you drag the wheel forward, you will zoom in. When you drag the wheel backward, you will zoom out. When you double click on the globe, you will zoom in and your camera will also be centered on the location that you have clicked. Holding the shift key down on your keyboard and then double clicking the mouse will zoom the camera out and it will be centered on clicked location.

Dataset items: It is also possible to control the settings of each place mark or data set item with the dataset item. Visibility checkbox can be used to set visibility of a dataset. A time range selector icon appears on the left hand side of a dataset if the dataset contains items which have time information. When you turn on the time range of dataset, that time range will be added to main timeline. You will be able to see main timeline in time control. If the dataset also contains sub items, these items can be hidden or revealed, by simply clicking on reveal arrow that is next to visibility checkbox.

Google Map Window: When you click on this icon Maps window will open. As centre of map window gets synchronized perfectly with the globe, they will zoom and pan together.

New placemark: When you click on this button, it adds a new placemark at current location and will also open the placemark window for editing your placemark.

Trash: If you want to delete items from personal data, you will have to drag them into the trash.
